If I were …an Adventure of Sherlock Holmes?

If I were …a canonical object or place?

If I were …a scent, a color or a sound related to Sherlock Holmes?

The Violin.

If I were …a quality of the great detective?

It would be his power of observation.

And a fault?

His distrust of women!

If I were …a canonical villain?

Charles Augustus Milverton.

A canonical woman?

Irene Adler!

If I were …an untold story?

The Giant Rat of Sumatra.

If I were ...a pastiche?

Something to do with Peter Warlock?

If I were …a Sherlock Holmes movie or TV Show?

The Valley of Fear (there is such a movie; Sherlock is not in it: The Molly Maguires, with Sean Connery and Richard Harris.

If I were …an actor who played Sherlock Holmes?

Daniel Day Lewis.

And a Watson?

David Robb.

If I were …an unanswered question in the stories?

Where was Watson really wounded??

If I were …a canonical quote?

“A doctor is the most dangerous of criminals; he has brains and training”  (This is not verbatim, but you get the idea).

Can you tell a happy memory related to Sherlock Holmes?

As a teenager, I watched the Peter Cushing/Andre Morrell film of The Hound of the Baskervilles.  Finally, a movie that seemed like it was true to Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes!

If you could Meet Sherlock Holmes, Watson or Arthur Conan Doyle, what would you like him to tell you?

I would be curious what Sherlock Holmes could deduce about me from my watch!
